4 Simple Ways to Set Intentions That Actually Work

The Secret to Creating a Life You Love Starts Here

What if I told you the way you set your intentions could change the entire course of your life?

Not just in small ways—but in profound, undeniable shifts that move you toward the life you know you’re meant for.

Most people set goals. They chase outcomes, obsess over results, and try to control every detail. But that’s not intention setting. That’s force.

Intention setting is different. It’s not about striving—it’s about aligning.

When you set a powerful intention, you’re not just hoping for something to happen. You’re declaring who you are becoming and trusting that the universe will meet you there.

DECIDING can truly change your life.

I was working an office job in my home town, doing alright by the world's standards. Deep down, I wasn't fulfilled, I craved more. I craved new horizons, friends who made me feel seen, heard, and understood. More excitement, adventure, and days of bliss where I fell asleep early, exhausted and euphoric at the end of an epic day.

So I decided. I decided I was moving to Colorado. Once I made that decision, I aligned with it. I am moving to Colorado so I need to quit my job. I am moving to Colorado so I need to rent my house out. I am moving to Colorado so I need to get a job out there. I am moving to Colorado so I need to find a place to live out there. I am moving to Colorado so I need winter clothes.

Once I DECIDED, the path revealed itself. The steps to go from where I was at to where I was going appeared in front of my like stepping stones. Things aligned for me, everything fell into place in divine and perfect order, without me having to try hard or force it. I set an intention, I aligned with it, and everything simply fell into place.

Your job isn’t to micromanage how your intentions unfold.

Your job is to embody the version of you who already has what you desire.

Once you DECIDE, the path to go from where you are now to where you decided to go will appear.

You don't need to be able to see the whole path, you only need to see the next step.

Ask yourself: This intention is already true, how does that change the way I think? How do I act? Who am I becoming?

The moment you shift your energy to match your intention, things start moving in your favor. You’ll notice synchronicities, new opportunities, and divine nudges guiding you toward your next step.

But you have to be willing to trust the process.

How to Set Intentions That Actually Work

Most people fail at intention setting because they overcomplicate it. Here’s how to make it simple and effective.

1. Focus on what you want—not what you don’t want.

Your words carry energy. Instead of saying, “I want to stop feeling stressed,” say, “I invite peace and ease into my life.” Instead of “I need to stop procrastinating,” try “I take aligned action every day.”

2. Get crystal clear.

Vague intentions create vague results. Instead of “I want to feel happier,” define what happiness looks like for you. Is it more laughter? More time in nature? More deep conversations? The clearer you are, the more your reality will align with your vision.

3. Keep it simple.

The most powerful intentions are the ones you can repeat like a mantra. “I choose courage over fear.” “I trust that life is always working in my favor.” “I show up fully and authentically.”

4. Repeat them often.

Repetition is how you rewire your mind. Say your intention out loud every morning. Write it on sticky notes. Let it become the background music of your life.

5. Align your actions.

Intentions without action are just empty words. Ask yourself, “If I truly believed in this intention, what would I do differently today?” Then take one small, inspired step.

The Key to Unlocking Magic: Inspired Action

Most people ignore the quiet whispers of their intuition. They overthink, hesitate, or convince themselves their ideas are unrealistic.

But the universe speaks in nudges. And if you don’t listen, you’ll miss the magic.

Start paying attention to those little sparks of inspiration—the urge to start something new, reach out to someone, or take a small risk. That’s your intuition leading you exactly where you need to go.

Act on it.

The more you follow these nudges, the more doors will open for you.

Set Your Intentions—Then Surrender

Once you set an intention, let it go.

Stop gripping so tightly. Stop trying to control every step. Stop questioning whether it’s working.

It is.

The universe has a way of orchestrating things far better than you could ever plan.

So just be.

Let go.

Trust.

Allow.

And watch what happens.

Set your intentions right now. Write them down. Put them where you can see them. Speak them out loud every day.

Then, get ready—because everything is about to change.
